We're a hotel run by locals who know and love this area, set on the West Cliff with the seafront, Bournemouth Gardens and the town's shops all a short walk away. The transport links are close too, so it's a good base for exploring the wider Dorset coast.
We're especially happy to welcome your four-legged companion. Dogs are part of the family, and we want yours to enjoy their stay just as much as you do.

Dining with your dog
Your dog is welcome to join you in three of our dining spaces:
- The Bubble Lounge: A relaxed spot for breakfast, bar meals or dinner
- The Bluebird Lounge: Perfect for an informal drink, a snack or afternoon tea
- The Secret Garden: A favourite on sunny afternoons, shaded by its ancient olive tree
While you tuck into something from our menu, your dog can enjoy a dish of their own from our Doggy Bites menu.
You'll always find somewhere relaxed to settle in together. To keep the hotel comfortable for all our guests, we ask that dogs are kept on a lead while dining; read our house rules.

Exploring Bournemouth and Dorset with your dog
Alum Chine, Durley Chine and Hengistbury Head welcome dogs all year round, and Studland Bay's white sand is a short drive along the coast. Closer to home, Bournemouth Gardens sits just outside our door.
Bournemouth's main beaches restrict dogs from May to September, so the chines and the headland come into their own in high summer. Your Welcome Pet Pack has the full picture, along with walk routes and the cafés that'll make a fuss of them.

Washing Your Dog
Back from the coast with sandy paws? Our dedicated dog wash area in the hotel garden makes light work of sand, salt and mud. Just ask at reception for access and instructions.
Prefer to tidy up before you're back at the hotel? Two self-service outdoor dog wash stations are also close by, run by Polygon Pets:
- Alum Chine Seafront (BH4 8AN): on the seafront near the Alum Beach Hut Restaurant
- Pinecliff Road, Poole (BH13 6LP): near Branksome Beach car park
Both are pay as you go, so there's no need to book.
A Few House Guidelines
To keep things comfortable for everyone, we'd ask you to keep a few simple things in mind during your stay:
- Leads on in public areas. Please keep your dog on a lead in reception, our lounges, corridors and shared outdoor spaces.
- Dogs aren't left alone in bedrooms. An unfamiliar environment can unsettle even the calmest of dogs, so we ask that yours stays with you whenever you leave the room.
- Bathing stays in the dog wash area. Please avoid washing your dog in your bedroom or bathroom, as this can damage the facilities. Head to our dedicated dog wash area instead, or ask at reception for directions.
- Help us keep things tidy. Please clean up after your dog around the grounds. Waste bags are available at reception if you need them.
- A little consideration goes a long way, particularly in the early morning and late evening, for the comfort of our other guests.
